Évora is the capital of the province of Alentejo. Évora is both a city and art museum in the city center of Portugal. Thus the city’s core remains intact, protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The most famous building is the Roman Temple of Évora from the 2nd Century. In the inner city are many cafe, restaurant, bakery and bars where you can sit comfortably. Évora offers old university, cathedral, and Päläste many mansions and many old architectures. In the city center there are marble fountains, which also belong to the furthest attraction. There is much to end finish.
Beja in the Alentejo province. Beja was already an important place in antiquity. The castle on the top of the hill, visible from a distance and dominates the city. The castle consists of crenellated walls with four square corner towers and a central granite and marble keep, with its height of 40 meters the highest in Portugal. The castle now houses a small military museum. Beja has much to see including the Roman dam Muro since Prega, the monastery Sao Francisco.
